White water rafting in Maine is some of the best rafting that can be found anywhere in the United States (or the World!). Choose from three major rivers : The Kennebec, The Dead and The Penobscot. These whitewater rivers are all in pristine wilderness settings and are dam controlled for guaranteed high water releases throughout the rafting season.
The Maine Rafting Season is from mid-April to mid-October. All of these Maine rivers have special trips and dam releases through out the summer.
Three Rivers White Water runs 1, 2, or 3 day trips on the Dead, Kennebec or Penobscot Rivers Daily. We use state of the art equipment and put the most time and money into training professional guide staff of any outfitter in Maine. All of our trips include home made meals that are second to none. Kennebec River Rafting
The Kennebec is Maine’s most popular river for white water rafting. It is appropriate for almost all groups and has a minimum age of 10yrs for participants rafting the upper Kennebec George. Arrangements for younger participants can be made for them to join the trip for second half, and less rigorous portion of the trip. The Kennebec runs at high flows 7 days a week and is always a good run. Our one day white water rafting trip on the Kennebec is a world class, 13 mile wilderness

Dead River Rafting
Rafting on The Dead River boasts the most continuous whitewater anywhere in the east. Class III, and IV rapids are common on this 16 mile trip. The Dead River only has high water releases(Link) on specific dates during the rafting season. These releases are always special events and are expected to fantastic with spring snow run off this Year. Suggested minimum age is 12. The Dead River is the best spring whitewater rafting in Maine and also makes a beautiful fall rafting trip with
Maine’s foliage season. The Dead River also offers family rafting great for small children during the summer on Dead River Recreational Releases. When rafting The Dead River you will be enjoying the amenities at The Forks Outdoor Fun Resort.
Penobscot River Rafting
Rafting on The Penobscot River is the most challenging in Maine! Maine’s true Class V whitewater rafting is available 7 days per week all summer long. Thrilling rapids like Exterminator, The Cribworks, and Nesowenahunk Falls. This true wilderness experiences on this 13 mile trip with a suggested minimum age of The Penobscot rafting adventure is full of incredible views of Mount Katahdin and Baxter state park and wildlife including moose, deer, bald eagles, beaver, otters, ducks
and much more. This wilderness rafting thriller is also the only place in the United States to combine a class V rafting adventure with the ultimate thrill of Skydiving with JUMP and RAFT. When rafting The Penobscot River of skydiving with Jump and Raft you will be enjoying the amenities at The Penobscot Outpost.
Family Rafting Trips
There are many trips for families with teens or younger children. Both Kennebec River and Dead River Recreational releases offer great safe family river trip options. Three Rivers offers several Inflatable kayak trips on three different rivers that are safe and exhilarating. Paddle your own boat and be the master of your own destiny on The Kennebec Dead or Seboomook Rivers. These boat are easy to handle and a ton of fun. These trips are a terrific value when combined with any one of or whitewater rafting trips to create two fun filled days.
Kennebec River Overnights
These two day rafting trips on The Kennebec River begin at Moosehead Lake and return25 miles to The Forks for a wilderness adventure that is hard to compare to any other river trip in the east. All equipment and meals are provided and great guides with show you the wonders of the Maine wilderness and create outdoor meals that are the fine dining of the camping world.
