Well, the weather has been truly amazing up here in the Forks. Hot sunny days with blue bird skies makes rafting trips all the sweeter, and we all know that going rafting is the best way to get out of the heat and cool off! Besides the thrill of going over awesome rapids, you can really enjoy the calm spots with a nice cool breeze and refreshing swims.
The sunsets have been just as terrific, with clear, crisp skies and captivating views of Mount Katahdin from our Millinocket Outpost or looking over the ridge of green pine trees at the Forks base and watching the sun fade away at the end of another picture-perfect rafting-packed summer’s day.
And now, it looks like it’ll be the busiest weekend in Three Rivers history — we have more than twenty rafting trips at both bases on Saturday and all our skydiving tours are booked solid! We also have the Chris Fitz Band playing the Forks and The 3 Horsemen in Millinocket.
This past weekend, Brown Ledge Camp brought their very musical junior counselors for a Kennebec River overnight. In addition, Better Hockey and Dover Recreation Department came to enjoy some whitewater rafting with us.
With more spectacular summer weather on the way, warm weather, great fun, and of course, more and more rafting, the water’s looking good here at Three Rivers. Hope you come up to enjoy it with us!

On a beautiful sunny Saturday, Three Rivers Whitewater had one of the busiest days ever with tons of rafters cruising down the Kennebec and Penobscot white water rivers. The past several days have seen sun, sun, and more sun, and guests and guides have taken the opportunity to dive in the warm water of Maine’s whitewater rivers.
Come nightfall, the band One to Louder hosted the biggest party so far this season, and JC and the Pickups played two days over the weekend. All three Christopher brothers were hanging around the Forks all weekend long as well as Lauren McGrath & family, Jen and Noli and several other veteran Three Rivers Whitewater Guides.
With rafting at its peak, ample sun, tons of guests and more fun than you can shake a paddle at, time’s never been better to take a rafting trip here at Three Rivers!

There’s only one word for life at the Forks this past week: Wicked Awesome! The warm weather has scared off the mosquitoes meaning we can all wear a little more comfortable clothing… especially for those who were at the Toga Party! The house was packed for Taco Tuesday, as the band “1 2 Many” came to rock the roof off.
This weekend were were graced with the Christopher Brothers, who joined us to kick off Karaoke nights and a rocking end of June party played by JC & The Pickups… prizes, giveaways, and beverages were enjoyed by all.
So what are you waiting for?! The best time of the year for rafting is NOW, and there’s plenty of food, drink, music, and white water fun to go around.

It’s Prime Time! Summer is in full swing now. The water has warmed up enough so everyone is wearing less clothing which is always fun, the bugs are going away, the bonfires are raging and the entertainment has been great. JC and The Pick-Ups had a major “Who’s your Daddy”” Party Saturday night in The Forks and we are playing again on June 30th. Mike and April built an awesome hollow log fire and the party and dancing ragged on until late. At the Penobscot Outpost it was all kinds of boating and there were many parachutes falling from the sky as some of your favorite river guides started their skydiving certifications. Mike Rigz, Seth Warman, Allison Wing, and John K. all started classes on Friday and made jumps all weekend to get their licenses.
We are all fired up for this weekend myself and Tony are going to be in Millinocket Rafting the Penobscot Saturday, Kayaking the Seboomook on Sunday and squeezing as many skydives as possible at Jump and Raft! Combine this with The 3 Horsemen playing at the Outpost on Saturday Night and I’m sure it is going to quite a weekend.
Kimmy, Kristin, April and Stacy will be throwing the party at The Forks this weekend Rafting and Inflatable Kayaking on the Kennebec. Saturday Night Between the Lines will be rocking the house. Sunday night everyone is gathering in The Forks for our annual Toga Party and then Portland sensation ONE TWO MANY is playing great classic rock at TACO Tuesday. $6 Taco Buffet, $1 Draft Beers bonfire and dancing — now that’s how we do Tuesday’s around here! Then we will be headed for another crazy, fun adventure filled weekend. Don’t miss out, summer is short, come up and join us and if you haven’t already, throw up some comments on the blog, send your pictures in for the photo contest and get your butt back up here!

Hey Everybody, the season is off to an amazing start with super high water on The Kennebec, Dead, and Penobscot Rivers making for some epic days on the river. The nights have been no less exciting, dancing to some great bands, signing along to All Star Karaoke and enjoying food and fires with old and new friends.
It is going by really fast though. I can’t believe that it is already June! We only have a couple high water Dead River releases left, but when that is done the Kennebec and Penobscot are still pumping out big water around the clock 7 days a week and with all this water around it will continue like that throughout the entire summer.
This past weekend I hung out with the American International College crew and the always fun Rollins group from New Hampshire at the Penobscot Outpost. We sang Karaoke and gathered around some of the campfires for some late night food. Sunday’s skydives got rained out but the rafting on the Penobscot was awesome. Some of the Belfast High School outing club had a mishap at Exterminator rapid and swam some of the gorge but no one got so much as a bruise and most thought it was a fun experience.
In The Forks this weekend The Dead River was awesome with 120+ crew and guides with a flow of near 6000 cubic feet per second of water. The crew included Interlakes and New Bedford High Schools as well as friends and guests from all over. Young Seth the guide wiped out at Elephant Rock Rapid and his whole boat took a short swim that was the talk of the Day. Once again all involved were fine. Karaoke Friday night was a big hit and The Returnables rocked the house with fun danceable rock and roll on Saturday. A great weekend was had by all.
We are all excited for the last two big Dead River Releases of the spring are on the 9th and 17th of June and should not be missed. There will be Karaoke at Both boatman’s bar and grill locations for the rest of the summer and for this coming weekend The Three Horsemen are playing at The Forks Saturday night and Between The Lines will rocking The Penobscot Outpost in Millinocket. Myself and the Jump and Raft Crew will be skydiving all weekend.
Don’t just sit there, get your butt up here and have some fun!
Please respond and let me hear your Three Rivers stories from the weekend — this blog will become a great place for us to share the summer fun!
