Kennebec River Accommodations: The Inn by The River

Inn by the River is nestled on a bluff overlooking the Kennebec River in the Forks, Maine, the heart of outdoor recreation. Flyfishing; spin casting; whitewater canoeing, kayaking, and rafting; trail hiking; mountain biking; golfing; and theater are all at our doorstep. In the winter, snowmobilers find a warm retreat after a day on the trails which cross our backyard. From the fisherman in the spring to nature lovers in the fall to snowmobilers in the winter, our hospitality is always welcoming.

Relax in Comfort

In the first floor Great Room you may enjoy relaxing in front of the stone fireplace while listening to the piano or sipping on a cocktail from our pub. Outside are gardens, many hiking trails, fish in the river, and mountain bike and snowmobile trails for you to explore. Upon guest request, we can arrange canoe or kayak shuttle into the Dead River for the low water releases. On special evenings in the spring and fall, and every evening in the summer, we offer a selected entree and complete dinner in our dining room. You may make reservations the previous evening. Children are welcome!
